Catholic or Evangelic. Public or Private. Bothering questions are always more and more during our stay in Germany. Now We have to choose THE KINDERGARTEN. That’s not so easy as it seems, not at all.
The thing is that the kindergartens here in Düsseldorf are not enough. The problem is quiet common generally. Too many kiddos-not enough nurseries, kindergartens, etc.
Simple way to explain how does it work here in Germany is make some researches before you decide to get pregnant. I know that many mums and paps will bursting out laughing now, but…unfortunately there is nothing to laugh about…
Based on the assumption that there is a open war between mothers in need, once you are pregnant, start taking a place in the queue. There is a special Kita-Navigator for “Kita-Suche” – an online form on the Jugendamt website. You can choose your preferences and wait, they will contact you when they find free place for your little one. The form is in German but wrote in a simple words so you can easily understand the content.
If you decide to send your kid to the private kindergarten, I can suggest some of the best quoted in Düsseldorf and nearby.
